Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 ½ kg plum(s)
  • 1 liter red wine, dry
  • 100 ml orange juice
  • 150 g sugar or cane sugar
  • Cinnamon

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

old recipe of my mom, makes about 8 jars

Halve and pit the plums, and place them in a large pot. Add the red wine and the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, but only for about 5 minutes. Remove the pot from the heat and pour the plums and wine into large preserving jars. Turn them upside down for 5 minutes. The red wine plums taste best when left to stand for at least a month to allow the red wine to infuse. Delicious with roast beef, but also with sweet dishes like steamed dumplings or pancakes.
