Poor Knight Casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • ½ baguette(s) , stale or 3 stale rolls
  • 2 apples
  • 80 g sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 250 ml milk
  • e.g. cinnamon

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Recycling leftovers

Slice the baguette and apples and layer them alternately in a baking dish. Combine the sugar with the eggs, milk, and cinnamon and pour over the baguette and apples. Preheat the oven to 160°C (fan/convection). Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for about 30 minutes, removing the foil after 15 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.
