Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 250 g butter or margarine
- 250 g sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 1 tbsp rum
- 4 eggs
- 420 g flour
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 150 g poppy seeds, ground
- 230 ml milk
- Fat for the mold
- 200 g powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp rum
- 4 tbsp water, hot
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes
Cream the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, and rum until fluffy, then add the eggs one at a time. Combine the flour and baking powder and stir in. Then add the poppy seeds and finally the milk. Mix everything well and pour into a greased 26cm springform pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (top/bottom heat) for about 60-70 minutes. Depending on the oven, you may need to cover with aluminum foil halfway through baking. Mix the powdered sugar with the rum and hot water until smooth, then drizzle over the cake while it’s still hot.
