Christmas cookies, quick and easy to make

Quickly knead the flour, butter, poppy seeds, powdered sugar, vanilla sugar, and egg into a dough and let it rest in a cool place for about 1 hour. Then form the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Make a small indentation with the handle of a wooden spoon. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 10 minutes. Gently warm the currant jelly and pour it into the indentations of the still-hot Husarenkrapfen. Let it cool completely. Makes about 70 balls.
