Poppy Seed Noodles with Applesauce

The perfect poppy seed noodles with applesauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g Floury potatoes
  • 100 g Potato starch flour
  • 1 Pc. Egg
  • 80 g Melted butter
  • 300 g Ground poppy seeds
  • 100 g Icing sugar
  1. Cook potatoes with their skins in a saucepan for about 7-8 minutes and let the peeled potatoes evaporate briefly in the oven at 100 degrees. Press through a potato press, but the good old potato masher also works, knead with the potato starch and the egg to form a dough. Make four rolls about 3cm thick, cut them into 1cm thick slices and shape the noodles about finger thick. Let it steep for 5 minutes in the boiling salted water. In the meantime, melt the butter in a pan, strain the pasta in the butter and sprinkle with poppy seeds and sugar. It is best to add the poppy seeds and sugar to the pan and toss through. Serve with applesauce or other compote. For the applesauce quarter the apples and boil with a little water or apple juice until soft, puree done.
