Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 2 packs of puff pastry, from the refrigerated counter, 275 g each
- 125 g poppy seeds, ground (crushed)
- 150 ml milk
- 2 tbsp desiccated coconut
- 50 g sugar
- 2 packets of vanilla sugar
- 1 shot of hot water to dissolve the vanilla sugar
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes
makes about 50 sweet snacks
Bring the milk to a boil, add the desiccated coconut, sugar, and crushed poppy seeds, let it bubble briefly, then remove from the heat and let the mixture cool. Place one sheet of puff pastry on the countertop, spread the poppy seed mixture on top with a large knife or spatula, place the second sheet of puff pastry on top and press down lightly. Now brush the mixture with the syrup made from hot water and vanilla sugar and cut into small squares, preferably 2 x 2 cm, so they’re ready to eat in one bite (puff pastry tends to crumble). Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 15 minutes until golden brown. Delicious, not just for surprise guests!
