Pork chops with spicy topping

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 pork chops, each 150 g
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 150 ml vegetable stock
  • salt and pepper
  • possibly flour to thicken
  • 75 g bacon cubes
  • 60 g breadcrumbs
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 tsp caraway powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Combine the bacon cubes with breadcrumbs, oil, garlic, and caraway seeds. Season the chops with salt and pepper and sear in hot oil for about 2-3 minutes on each side. Then place them in a baking dish and spread the bacon mixture on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 10 minutes. Pour the stock over the remaining cooking liquid in the pan, season with salt and pepper, and bring to a boil. Thicken slightly if necessary. Serve the chops with the juices. Serve with potatoes and roasted vegetables.
