Pork goulash

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 600 g pork goulash
  • 2 tbsp lard or oil
  • 400 g onion(s)
  • ½ tbsp paprika powder, sweet
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • ½ garlic clove(s), crushed
  • ⅛ liter sour cream
  • 1 tsp flour
  • n. B. Broth for infusing
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes

Cut the meat into small cubes and fry in hot fat. Then add the onions and fry until crispy. Pour in the broth. Add the salt, paprika, crushed garlic, and tomato paste, stirring frequently during cooking, adding more broth as needed. When the meat is tender, pour some of the sauce into a small bowl and thicken with the sour cream and flour. Return it to the goulash and thicken. Season to taste. Tastes delicious with spaetzle and red cabbage.
