Potato and tomato gratin

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 800 g potatoes, waxy
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 onions
  • 4 tomatoes, preferably vine tomatoes
  • 8 slices of cheese (raclette cheese) approx. 30 g each
  • 3 tbsp butter, for frying
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Quick, delicious vegetarian dish

Cut the potatoes and garlic into approximately 2-3 mm thin slices. Halve the onions and also slice them. Fry the potatoes in butter over medium heat for about 10 minutes until just tender. After 5 minutes, add the onions and garlic and fry. Season with salt and pepper. Preheat the oven to 200°C, slice the tomatoes, layer the potatoes with the tomatoes and cheese in baking dishes, bake in the center of the oven for about 20 minutes, and serve immediately. Goes well with leaf salad.
