Potato casserole with broccoli and sausage

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg potato(s), floury
  • salt water
  • 250 ml milk, lukewarm
  • 15 g butter
  • 300 g broccoli
  • 1 meat sausage or ham sausage, possibly with garlic
  • 100 g Gouda, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes

Peel and chop the potatoes, and boil in salted water for about 30 minutes, then drain. Melt the butter in the warm milk and add to the potatoes. Mash with a masher until finely chopped. Transfer the mashed potatoes to a baking dish. Cook the broccoli for about 15 minutes. Place on top of the mashed potatoes. Cut the ham sausage into approximately 1 cm wide slices and place vertically into the mashed potatoes. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for 30 minutes.
