Potato Coating for Shrimp
The perfect potato coating for shrimp recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 12 piece King prawns without a head, with a shell on the tail end
- 3 piece Waxy potatoes
- Oil for frying
- 1 smaller Iceberg lettuce
- 1 portion Mayonaise – homemade
- 3 tbsp Ketchup
- 1 pinch Cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp Lemon juice
- Coarse salt and pepper from the mill
- 1 tbsp Cognac
- Remove the intestines from the prawns, clean the prawns. Peel and wash the potatoes. Then cut the potatoes with the lurchi into long thin spaghetti strips and then wrap these potatoes around each shrimp. The tail end should “peek out”.
- Heat the oil in a deep fryer or in a high pan, fry the prawns in portions for 4 minutes and drain on paper towels, and then season with salt and pepper.
- Cut the iceberg lettuce into fine strips, set aside. Now mix the mayonnaise with the ketchup and then mix well with the lemon juice, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper and the cognac, season to taste. Pour the dressing over the iceberg lettuce and mix loosely. Arrange on a plate with the prawns.
