Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g leek
  • 200 g cheese (Appenzeller)
  • 200 g ham, cooked
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 750 g potatoes, waxy
  • 200 g whipped cream
  • 200 ml milk
  • Fat, for the shape
  • herbs, for garnishing
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Trim and wash the leeks and cut into rings. Cover and sauté in a little boiling salted water for about 2 minutes, then drain. Preheat oven to 175°C (150°C fan oven). Slice 150g of cheese. Cut the ham and cheese into slices approximately 4x4cm. Chop the onion. Peel the potatoes and slice or grate them thinly. Grease a baking dish and sprinkle with onions. Layer the potatoes, leeks, ham, and cheese slices in a fan shape. Season the cream and milk with salt and pepper and pour over the casserole. Grate the remaining cheese over the top. Bake in the preheated oven for about 50 minutes until golden brown.
