Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg potatoes, waxy
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 gherkins
  • 1 apple
  • 1 ring/s of meat sausage
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • ½ liter broth
  • 1 jar Miracle Whip
  • 2 eggs, hard-boiled, if needed

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Grandma’s Original

Boil the potatoes with their skins on and slice them. Peel and finely chop the onion, and sauté it in a pan. Deglaze with the stock. Pour over the potatoes and let it stand for 10 minutes. Then drain the stock. Cut the gherkins, apple, sausage, and—if you like—the eggs into small pieces and add to the potatoes. Mix the mustard, vinegar, and oil, add to the potatoes, and finally fold in the mayonnaise. Finally, add this mixture to the potatoes and fold in. Tip: It’s best to let it stand overnight before serving.
