The preparation of pumpkin soup is very easy in the Thermomix. In our recipe, we show what you need and how to set your Thermomix correctly.

Pumpkin soup from Thermomix – you need these ingredients

If you would like to prepare a pumpkin soup for four people, you can use our quantities. If you have more or fewer guests, simply increase or decrease the number of ingredients accordingly.

  • For a pumpkin soup, you need a pumpkin as a basis. A Hokkaido is well suited, but other types of pumpkin can also be used.
  • You don’t have to peel the tasty Hokkaido. You can eat this pumpkin with the skin on.
  • You will need 750 grams of pumpkin flesh. Also prepare a clove of garlic, a slice of fresh ginger, and a peeled and quartered onion.
  • For the soup, you also need 10 grams of oil, 750 milliliters of vegetable broth, 120 grams of feta cheese, and, for seasoning, a pinch of nutmeg and a teaspoon of black pepper.

Pumpkin soup – preparation in the Thermomix

Once you have prepared the necessary ingredients, preparing the pumpkin soup in the blender is child’s play.

  • First put the garlic cloves, the onion, and the ginger in the mixing bowl. Set six seconds at level 5.
  • Turn off the machine, use the spatula to scrape the ingredients down, and set the machine to setting 5 for another six seconds.
  • In the next step, add the oil and sweat the ingredients on Varoma and speed 2 for four minutes.
  • Next, add the diced pumpkin flesh. Set the Thermomix again on Varoma level 2 for four minutes.
  • Now add the stock and a pinch of nutmeg to the mixing bowl and cook the soup for 15 minutes at 90 degrees, speed 2.
  • The squash is now soft enough to puree the soup. You can do this with the Thermomix at level 8 for about 30 seconds.
  • The pumpkin soup is almost ready. The coarsely crushed black pepper and the sheep’s cheese cut into large cubes are still missing. Put these ingredients in the mixing bowl and set the Thermomix to 92 degrees for 2 minutes.
  • If you then puree the mixture for another twenty seconds at level 8, the pumpkin soup is ready and can be served on plates or in bowls.
