Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g flour
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp brown rum
  • 200 g butter
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tbsp rum
  • 150 g powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes

Knead flour, powdered sugar, egg yolks, rum, salt, and butter into a shortcrust pastry. Cover and let rest in the refrigerator for 60 minutes. Knead the dough briefly until smooth. Roll into small balls and shape them into pretzels, then place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (top/bottom heat) for about 10 minutes until light golden brown. Mix the rum, powdered sugar, and egg white thoroughly. Brush the pretzels with the glaze while they are still hot. Carefully (as they are very crumbly), place them on a wire rack to cool.
