Puff pastry apple turnovers

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 m.-sized apples
  • 1 tbsp, heaped sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • some butter or margarine
  • some lemon juice
  • 6 slice(s) puff pastry, frozen
  • Powdered sugar, for sprinkling

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Peel and core the apples. Cut into small pieces. Heat a pan and add the butter. Once melted, add the apple pieces, then mix in the sugar and cinnamon and add the lemon juice. Simmer until the apples are soft. Let the compote cool. It should no longer be hot when it is placed on the puff pastry. Defrost the puff pastry. Preheat oven to 150°C (top/bottom heat). Spread the compote on one half of the puff pastry sheets. Fold the other half over the top. Press the edges together with a fork. Bake for 20 minutes at 170°C (convection oven). Once cooled, sprinkle with powdered sugar. Fresh whipped cream or vanilla sauce goes deliciously with it.
