Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 puff pastry from the refrigerated section
  • 2 large onions
  • 200 g bacon
  • 4 m.-sized eggs
  • 200 g crème fraîche
  • 100 ml cream
  • 100 g cheese, grated
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • possibly fat for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Simple and fast

Roll out the puff pastry and place it in a dish or baking sheet. The edges should be at least 2-3 fingers wide. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees (top/bottom heat) or 200 degrees (fan oven). Cut the bacon into strips if it isn’t already diced. Peel and dice the onions. Fry both in a little fat. Remove the pan from the heat. Whisk together the 4 eggs, the crème fraîche, the cream, and 50g of the cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Add the whisked mixture to the bacon and onions in the pan and mix well. Pour everything onto the puff pastry in the dish. Finally, sprinkle the remaining 50g of cheese over the top. Bake in the oven at 220 degrees (top/bottom heat) or 200 degrees (fan oven) for 40 minutes. If the surface gets too dark, simply cover with aluminum foil. A green salad goes very well with this quiche. If you like, you can also add vegetables to the quiche. Simply add them to the egg mixture.
