Puff pastry with apples and mango puree

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 3 apples
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp applesauce with mango
  • 1 puff pastry from the refrigerated section
  • 1 egg(s)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Prepare the puff pastry as directed on the package and cut into 6 squares. Dice the sweet and sour apples into small cubes and heat them in a saucepan with just a little butter. Then add the cinnamon and sugar and let everything simmer for about 5 minutes. I, for example, don’t like the apples to be too floury and like them to still have a certain bite. So decide how soft you want them to be. Then stir in the apple and mango puree and warm it briefly. Beat the egg and set aside. Now you can spread the apple mixture onto the puff pastry squares. Please note that you are forming a triangle, so only cover one half with the mixture and leave the edges free! Brush this with beaten egg, as this will help the dough stick together better. Now fold the two halves together and form into triangles. I pressed the edges together with a fork, but the sky’s the limit when it comes to creating them! I’ve also shaped candies or filled them with cherries. Brush the edges with beaten egg and cut them if you like. Bake in the oven at 190-200 degrees Celsius for about 15 minutes. Set a timer and keep an eye on it! Depending on the dough, it may take longer or faster! Finally, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
