Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 2 rolls
- 250 g apples
- 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
- 50 g raisins (rum raisins)
- 50 g walnuts, roughly chopped
- 3 eggs
- 100 g sugar
- rum

Grandma’s recipe refined
Cut the rolls into thin slices. Peel and dice the aromatic apples. Mix everything together with raisins, walnuts, and vanilla sugar. If desired, add a little rum to flavor the mixture. Pour into an ovenproof dish and let it sit for a while. Meanwhile, beat the eggs with sugar until frothy. Pour the egg mixture over the rolls. Bake, covered, in a preheated oven at 170°C for about 30 minutes. Serve with vanilla sauce or fruit.
