Quark cookies with figs

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 250 g layered cheese or quark
  • 150 g butter
  • 125 g sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • 1 packet of baking powder, possibly with saffron
  • 250 g fig(s), dried

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 3 hours; Total time approx. 3 hours 30 minutes

Scrape the seeds from the vanilla pod. Cut the dried figs into approximately 1 x 1 cm pieces. Mix the sugar with the cheese (or quark), butter, baking powder, figs, and vanilla seeds. Add the flour and knead. Place the dough in the refrigerator for about 3 hours. Preheat the oven to 170°C. Form the dough into balls about 2.5 – 3 cm in size and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for about 15 – 20 minutes, until light brown.
