Quark doughnuts

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 4 m.-sized eggs
  • 200 g sugar
  • 250 g quark
  • 1 cup of oil, approx. 200 – 250 ml content
  • 12 tbsp milk
  • 500 g flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Oil for frying, approx. 1 l
  • 100 g icing sugar for dusting

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Mix all ingredients until smooth and chill for 1 hour. Pour oil into a pan (about ¾ full) and heat to 170°C (350°F) (use a wooden skewer to test). Use 2 teaspoons to drop small dough balls into the hot oil (not too many at once, as they will flip) and fry until golden brown. Remove the doughnuts with a slotted spoon and drain on kitchen paper. Dust with powdered sugar and serve while still warm.
