Quark Rolls with Cheese

The perfect quark rolls with cheese recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 Glas – 175 ml
  • 125 g Quark
  • 0,5 Glass Milk lukewarm
  • 0,5 Glass Oil
  • 2 Eggs
  • 0,5 tsp Sugar
  • 0,5 tsp Salt
  • 0,5 cube Yeast
  • Flour as needed
  • Also:
  • Goat cheese, feta or any other cheese
  • Or alternatives:
  • Olives
  • Minced meat balls. cooked
  • Tuna
  • Us…………………………….
  • For painting:
  • 1 Egg, mixed with a little milk
  • To sprinkle:
  • Sesame, optional
  • Black cumin seeds, optional
  1. Put the yeast, sugar and milk in a small bowl, stir briefly and cover and let rest for 5 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix the quark, salt, oil and eggs together until the mixture is nice and smooth.
  3. Add the yeast – milk and knead in enough flour until a soft and non-sticky dough is formed. Dough should be as soft as an earlobe.
  4. Now cover and let rest for 1 hour.
  5. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. Cut the cheese into pieces or prepare any other filling and set aside.
  7. Shape the dough into balls of 30 – 35 g each, flatten it a little and fill it as you like. Beat the dough over the filling and carefully shape into a ball.
  8. Spread these on the baking sheets and cover and let rest for 45 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 180ºC top / bottom heat (convection 160ºC).
  10. Mix the egg with a little milk and brush the balls with it.
  11. Sprinkle with sesame and / or black cumin seeds if necessary.
  12. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes.
  13. Let cool and serve warm or cold.
  14. They are also a pleasure when unfilled 🙂
