Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g flour
  • 100 g butter
  • 1 egg(s)
  • ½ pack of baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup of cream
  • 200 g ham, raw or bacon
  • 200 g cheese (Emmental), grated
  • salt and pepper
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Specialty from France – an original French recipe

Combine flour, baking powder, salt, butter, and egg and knead into a smooth dough. Chill the dough for about 20 minutes. Pour the shortcrust pastry into a greased springform pan, forming a 2 cm high rim. Cut the ham into small cubes and spread it on the pastry base. Whisk the eggs with the cream, salt, and pepper and pour it evenly onto the pastry base. Sprinkle the mixture with grated cheese. Bake the quiche in the oven at 200°C for about 30 minutes. Serve hot.
