Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 100 g flour
- 1 pinch of salt
- 25 g lard
- 25 g butter
- 1 tbsp water, cold
- 15 g butter
- 1 onion(s), finely chopped
- ½ bell pepper(s), red, pitted, in rings
- ½ bell pepper(s), green, pitted, in rings
- 3 eggs
- 300 ml cream
- e.g. salt and pepper
Instructions
Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 55 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 35 minutes
Sift flour and salt into a bowl, stir in the lard and butter until crumbly. Add the water, knead the dough with your hands, and form a smooth ball. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and line a round baking pan (approx. 20 cm in diameter). Prick the dough several times with a fork. Bake for 15 minutes in a preheated oven at approx. 180 degrees Celsius. Melt the butter in a pan and sauté the onion and bell pepper until soft. Pour onto the prebaked base. Beat the eggs and add the cream, season with salt and pepper. Pour over the vegetables and bake the quiche in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 40 minutes, until the topping is golden brown. Serve hot or cold.
