Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 small banana(s)
  • 3 tbsp oat flakes, fine
  • some milk
  • 1 pinch of ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of cardamom, ground
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg, grated
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

Microwave version of the English-Indian breakfast classic

Place the banana in a deep plate, mash it with a fork, and sprinkle the oats over it. Now add the desired amount of milk (I always pour it up to the rim of the plate because I prefer it a little more liquid. The porridge thickens a little when heated. However, you can use a little less liquid first and then thin it out later). Stir everything together well with a fork and mash it to release the starch from the oats. Cover and microwave for 1 minute on full power. Now stir in the spices, including the salt. Add the salt now, otherwise the oats won’t soften as well. If necessary, thin it out with a little more milk. Microwave for another 30 seconds.
