Quick cheese – vegetable – ham – pasta – casserole

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 500 g pasta, Hörndli
  • 1 can peas and carrots mixed (850g can)
  • 250 g ham, finely sliced
  • 300 g cheese, Gruyere or mixed gratin – grated
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 100 g butter
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 1 liter of milk
  • some salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • some olive oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Cook pasta in salted water until al dente and drain. Melt butter in a pan, add flour, fry until light brown, and slowly deglaze with cold milk (add milk gradually). Simmer slightly, press in garlic, and season well with salt, pepper, and nutmeg (season generously!). Mix 200g of the cheese into the sauce and keep warm. Place pasta in a gratin dish, add peas, carrots, and ham, and mix well. Pour the cheese sauce over the pasta, spread evenly, sprinkle with the remaining cheese, and drizzle with a little olive oil. Bake in a preheated oven (convection oven) to 200°C (400°F) for 30-40 minutes.
