Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 200 g dark chocolate
- 50 g hazelnuts or almonds, ground
- e.g. flavoring (orange or lemon flavor) or lemon peel
Instructions
Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes
Bring some water to a boil in a kettle and pour it into a bowl or saucepan. Break the chocolate into pieces or chop it into small pieces and place it in a smaller bowl, which you then place in the larger bowl of water. Let the chocolate melt (without direct contact with the water!) until it is thin and liquefied. Mix in the hazelnuts and flavoring thoroughly until everything is a smooth mixture. Drop the chocolate spoonfuls onto some baking paper placed over ice packs and spread the mixture as evenly as possible with a silicone brush or spoon. Let the chocolate set either directly on the ice packs or refrigerate it for a while. Once the chocolate slices have set, you can break them into roll-sized portions or cut them into shapes with a knife. They are best stored in zip-top bags in the refrigerator or given to friends in jam jars. Enjoy the slices, for example, on a warm roll with melted butter. Of course, you can also use other types of chocolate, or even couverture, block chocolate, and leftovers from your Easter basket or Santa’s stocking. Another tip: If you use light and dark chocolate separately, you can create beautiful patterns.
