Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 2 large carrots
  • 500 g pak choi
  • 5 tbsp teriyaki sauce
  • n. B. sugar, brown
  • ½ tsp five-spice powder
  • 1 tbsp white sesame seeds
  • some oil, neutral

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

as a side dish or vegetarian main course

Peel the onion and slice into half rings. Peel the carrots, cut into approximately 5 cm long pieces, and slice these pieces lengthwise. Heat a little neutral oil in a wok, add the onions and carrots, and a little brown sugar, and let them caramelize slightly. Stir frequently. You can add a little more sugar later to taste and the sweetness of the teriyaki sauce. Wash the bok choy and remove any wilted leaves. Cut the stalks into 2 cm thick slices and add them to the wok with the onions and carrots. Sauté until crispy. After one minute, add the five-spice powder and the teriyaki sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes, then add the bok choy leaves, which have also been sliced. Simmer briefly, then add the sesame seeds and stir in. Delicious with meat or simply with rice or Asian noodles.
