Ingredients for 8 servings:
- 1 ½ kg roast beef for braising
- 3 tbsp sunflower oil
- 2 m.-sized onion(s)
- 5 packs of sauce powder for roast beef
- 10 tsp spice mix for roast meat
- 1 ¼ liters of water
- 1 tsp beef broth powder
Instructions
Working time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 35 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 20 minutes
Trim the roast meat, rinse, pat dry, and rub the seasoning all over. Peel the onion and dice it. Heat a sauté pan with the oil and sauté the diced onion until translucent. Sear the meat all over. Dissolve the beef stock powder in 1/4 liter of hot water and deglaze the meat with it. Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the roast and braise the meat to an internal temperature of 77°C. Carve the roast and make a creamy sauce with the sauce powder. Strain the sauce through a sieve, place the roast slices in the sauce, and heat until hot. Serve the roast with red cabbage and dumplings.
