Quick savoy cabbage stew with meatballs

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 savoy cabbage, finely chopped
  • 500 g minced meat, seasoned, with onions
  • 1 cup of sweet cream
  • 800 ml meat broth, strongly seasoned
  • 5 tbsp fat for frying, e.g. Rama Culinesse
  • Sauce thickener or roux
  • Caraway seeds
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Form the minced meat into small meatballs and brown them all over in the frying fat, then remove. Brown the cabbage in the fat. Season with salt and pepper. Deglaze with the meat broth and add the caraway seeds. Return the meatballs to the pan and simmer over medium heat for 30 minutes. Then drain the sauce and thicken with a sauce thickener. You can also pour the broth into a dark floured bowl and let it simmer. Add the savoy cabbage and meatballs, bring to a boil with the cream, and season to taste. Serve with mashed potatoes.
