Quick tomato sauce

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 ½ liters of water
  • 1 ring/s of meat sausage or 4 Bockwurst
  • 1 tube(s) of tomato paste or 1/2 large bottle of tomato ketchup
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • basil
  • oregano
  • some oil
  • n. B. Sauce thickener (Classic roux from Mondamin)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Dice the sausage and onion. Brown them in a pan with hot oil. Mix the water with the tomato paste or ketchup and bring to a boil in a saucepan. Don’t skimp on the tomato paste to give the sauce a nice tomato flavor. Then thicken with the classic roux until you reach the desired consistency. Add the fried onions and sausage cubes and mix. Season to taste with herbs and spices. Great with all types of pasta – ideal for kids, they love this sauce.
