Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 8 slices of toast
  • 8 slices of Gouda
  • 400 ml cream
  • 1 tsp, leveled salt
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika powder
  • 3 m.-sized eggs

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Cut the slices of toast diagonally. Do the same with the Gouda slices. Top the slices of toast with the triangular Gouda slices. Layer the triangles in a baking dish (see photo). Now it’s time to prepare the sauce: Mix the ingredients in a container that holds about 1/2 liter. Depending on whether you like it a bit stronger, you can add a little more or less pepper, salt, paprika, or nutmeg. Crack the eggs into a cup beforehand and then mix them into the sauce. Spread the sauce evenly over the slices. Finally, place everything in the oven at 170°C (top/bottom heat) for 30 minutes.
