Cucumber cubes with bacon and onions

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 cucumber(s)
  • 2 tbsp onion(s), diced
  • 2 tbsp bacon cubes
  • 6 tbsp white wine, alternatively 1 dashes lemon juice
  • 250 ml broth
  • 1 tbsp, heaped dill
  • Salt and pepper, black, from the mill
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 1 tbsp, heaped sour cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Deseed and dice the cucumber with a spoon. Sauté the onions and bacon for 3 minutes. Add the cucumbers, deglaze with white wine, and add broth until the cucumbers are almost covered. Cover and simmer gently until the cucumbers still have a slight bite. Add the herbs, spices, and sour cream. Thicken the side dish with cornstarch, if desired.
