Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 jar red cabbage
- 1 tbsp lard
- 1 onion(s), finely diced
- 50 g ham, diced
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 150 ml mulled wine or fruity red wine
Instructions
Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
when things need to go quickly
Brown the diced onion and ham in the lard. Add sugar and let it caramelize briefly. Deglaze with mulled wine, add the red cabbage, and heat through. The red cabbage shouldn’t be cooked too mushy. It tastes delicious with roulades, game, etc.
