Recipes with Habanero: Fiery Chili con carne

Chili con carne is the ideal dish for processing the habanero plant.   1. First, peel the garlic cloves and the onions and chop both.
  2. Now put oil in a large pan and heat it up.
  3. Once the oil is hot, you can add the minced beef to the pan and sear.
  4. After about 2-3 minutes, add the chopped onion and garlic. Now also season the mixture with salt, pepper, and cumin.
  5. Then deseed the habanero and cut them into small pieces. The chili pepper and the tomatoes are now also cut into small pieces.
  6. Then add the chopped ingredients to the pan and also add the tomato paste. Give everything a good stir.
  7. Now place a large pot on a second stovetop and heat 250 milliliters of water in it.
  8. Once the water is boiling, you can dissolve the beef broth in it.
  9. Then add your meat mixture to the broth in the pot and let everything simmer for about 10 minutes.
  10. Now tip off the corn and beans and add these ingredients to the pot along with the oregano.
  11. If you want a contrast to the spiciness, you can add about 80 grams of dark chocolate at this point.
  12. Then let everything simmer for about 10 minutes. And your chili con Carne is ready!

Salsa is perfect for nachos or tacos and tastes best when it’s very spicy. For the salsa with habanero you need: 2 teaspoons olive oil, 450 grams tomatoes, 3 habaneros, 1 onion, 2 cloves garlic, 2 teaspoons red wine vinegar, 1 teaspoon lime juice, and also some spices of your choice such as salt, chili, and cumin.

  1. First, wash your tomatoes and habaneros, peel the onion and garlic cloves, and cut them into small pieces.
  2. Then place a skillet on a stovetop set to medium-high and add a teaspoon of olive oil to the skillet.
  3. When the oil is hot you can add tomatoes, habaneros, and onion. Then let them fry in the oil for about 5 minutes and stir everything in between.
  4. Then add the garlic cloves and sauté for another 2 minutes.
  5. Then put the sautéed vegetables in a blender. Also add the red wine vinegar, lime juice, and spices of your choice.
  6. Now switch the mixer to medium speed and mix everything until the mixture forms a uniform mass.
  7. Then take your pan back and heat it up over low heat. Then add a teaspoon of olive oil.
  8. Now add your salsa to the pan and let it simmer for about 15 minutes. This way the tastes can develop better.
  9. Finally, the salsa just has to cool down and put in the fridge, because it tastes best when it’s cold.

A sweet and spicy dessert: habanero cinnamon cookies

  1. First, wash your habaneros and cut them into small pieces.
  2. Also, whisk your eggs until fluffy.
  3. Now preheat your oven to 160°C.
  4. Now mix the habaneros with the sugar, butter, vanilla extract and eggs.
  5. In another bowl, mix the dry ingredients together.
  6. When you have mixed everything well, you can add the liquid ingredients to the bowl with the dry ingredients and mix everything together well.
  7. If you have dough, you can now take a teaspoon of dough and form balls from it, which you then spread on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  8. Now put the cookies in the oven for about 8-10 minutes. When the cookies are golden brown in color, they’re done.
