Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 3 packs of herring fillet(s)
  • ½ onion(s)
  • 3 large gherkins
  • 150 g beetroot
  • ½ apple
  • 1 pack of condensed milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

a recipe from the Lower Rhine

First, wash the herring fillets and pat them dry, then finely dice them. Also dice the onion, apple, cucumber, and beetroot and add them to the herring. Then add the condensed milk to the herring and stir it in thoroughly. Season to taste with dill and pepper. This dish goes well with potatoes or black bread.
