Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 ml red wine
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • ½ stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 1 star anise
  • 4 bulb(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

Bring the wine and spices to a boil. Peel the pears, halve them, and core them. Simmer the pear halves in the liquid until tender, then let them cool. This dish goes well with desserts like Kaiserschmarren (a kind of pancake with pancakes), but is also a great side dish for meat.
