Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg currants, picked
  • 250 ml red wine
  • 700 g gelling sugar 1:1
  • 1 piece(s) cinnamon stick(s) (cinnamon bark), approx. 3 – 4 cm
  • 5 cloves

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

shaken and not stirred

Wash the well-ripened berries, remove the stems, and drain well. Bring the red wine and gelling sugar to a boil. Add the cinnamon bark and cloves. Then add the currants and simmer for 25 minutes. Shake the pot occasionally, but never stir. This will keep the berries whole. Remove the spices. Pour the jam into clean jars and seal. Let cool. Delicious with game dishes, schnitzels, cheese, etc. Tip: You can use cranberries instead of currants. One serving yields 7 jars of 200 ml each.
