Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 125 g butter
- 125 g sugar
- 200 g fine oat flakes
- 15 g flour
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 200 g chocolate
- 1 egg(s)
- 1 pinch of salt
- ½ tsp baking powder
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
according to Grandma’s recipe
Beat the very soft butter with the sugar, vanilla sugar and salt until very fluffy. Carefully add the egg to the mixture and continue beating vigorously. Mix the flour with the oats and puree. (My grandma pureed it really finely so that it was almost like flour, but you don’t have to do this, of course. The cookies will have more bite then.) Mix with the baking powder and stir into the butter mixture. Finally, fold in the chopped chocolate and refrigerate for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Line a baking tray with baking paper or grease it very well. Scoop out the dough with a tablespoon and shape into balls. Place them on the tray, leaving plenty of space between them. Bake the cookies in the oven for approx. 10-15 minutes. (Take them out depending on how brown and crispy you like them.) It is important to place the cookies well apart on the tray, as they spread out a lot. That should make about 3 trays of 9-12 cookies each, so a total of about 27-36 cookies!
