Rhubarb and apple compote

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 0.7 kg rhubarb
  • 2 large apples
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp citric acid
  • 2 carnations
  • 1 small cinnamon stick(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Peel the rhubarb and apples and cut them into small pieces. Place them in a saucepan and fill with water, just enough to cover. Add the sugar, citric acid, and spices. Simmer for 20 minutes either in a steamer or on the stove over low heat. While hot, pour into twist-off jars and seal immediately.
