Rice balls

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 350 g basmati rice
  • 250 g Emmental cheese
  • 50 g chives
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp curry masala
  • possibly rapeseed oil for frying
  • 150 g sesame seeds, unhulled
  • 2 tbsp sesame, black

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Cook the basmati rice according to the instructions. Mix the sesame seeds together in a bowl and set aside. While the rice is still hot, mix it with the remaining ingredients; it should be slightly sticky and the cheese should already be melting slightly. Form the mixture into balls with your hands and roll them in the sesame seeds. Either fry in a pan with plenty of rapeseed oil or place in an air fryer at 200°C for 20 minutes. This can also be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Serve with a sweet and spicy sauce.
