Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 mackerel(s), smoked (approx. 250 g)
  • 1 tomato(s)
  • 1 apple
  • 2 tbsp corn
  • 1 cucumber(s), green (approx. 50 g)
  • 1 gherkin(s)
  • 2 tbsp Miracle Whip
  • 200 g cheese, Gouda in slices
  • salt and pepper
  • 8 slices of toast

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Toast with smoked fish

Skin, debone, and chop the mackerel. Dice the tomato, apple, green cucumber, and gherkin and toss them with the fish, corn, and Miracle Whip to make a salad. Season with salt and pepper. Lightly toast the toast and spread the salad on top. Cut the Gouda into 1 cm wide strips and arrange them in a lattice pattern over the toast. Bake everything in the oven at 180°C for about 5-10 minutes (until the cheese has melted). Tip: If you prefer, you can also use grated Gouda.
