Roast Pork in Buttermilk Sauce

The perfect roast pork in buttermilk sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 600 g Roast pork
  • Salt and pepper
  • Fresh herbs finely chopped
  • 1 Onion
  • 3 Allspice grains
  • 3 Juniper berries
  • 3 Bay leaves
  • 0,5 liter Buttermilk
  • 0,5 liter Vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon Mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Fat for frying
  1. Wash the meat, season with salt and pepper. Peel and dice the onion. Heat the fat in the pan and fry the meat all around. Brown the onion and spices.
  2. When everything is evenly browned, add the buttermilk and the stock and cook the meat for about 45 minutes until soft. Pick out the bay, allspice and juniper berries. Season with the freshly chopped herbs and mustard and serve with bread dumplings and mixed vegetables
