Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 4 thin pork schnitzels, pork roulades or turkey
- 4 slice(s) ham, cooked
- 4 slices of cheese
- 1 jar wine, sparkling wine or apple juice
- 1 pack of tomatoes, pureed
- 1 pack of mozzarella
- 1 large onion(s)
- 1 garlic clove(s)
- Salt and pepper, from the mill
- Herbs of Provence
- olive oil
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Top the schnitzels or roulades with a slice of ham and cheese (I use Gouda or Emmental), roll them up, pin them together, and sear them lightly in olive oil. Place them in a baking dish. Fry the diced onion in a pan and briefly sauté the very finely diced garlic. Top with the wine, apple juice, or sparkling wine and let the liquid almost completely reduce. Top with the passata and add the seasoning. Pour the sauce over the rolls and top with the sliced mozzarella. Place the whole thing in the oven at around 150°C – 180°C for half an hour. Pasta or rice goes well with it. If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can dissolve a teaspoon of cornstarch in wine or other (cold!) liquid and stir it into the sauce (in the pan).
