Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g fat (pork fins)
  • 500 g bacon (belly bacon), fresh
  • 3 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 2 apples, sour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp marjoram, dried

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Lard on fresh bread… simply delicious!

Wash the bacon under running water and pat dry. Cut the bacon and bacon into small cubes, then fry in a large pot over low heat until the cracklings are translucent. Peel and finely dice the onions. Peel, quarter, and thinly slice the apples. Gradually add both to the bacon fat. Season with salt, pepper, and marjoram. Stir the bacon fat frequently and fry until the cracklings and onions are light brown. Pour the bacon fat into stone pots.
