Romanov Minced Meat Pie

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 300 g puff pastry, frozen
  • 2 onions
  • 250 g mushrooms
  • 100 g bacon, streaky, in thin slices
  • 600 g minced beef
  • 3 eggs, including the yolk
  • 50 g blue cheese
  • salt and pepper
  • Herbs

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Thaw the puff pastry. Mix the minced meat with the egg yolk, salt, and pepper to form a dough. Finely dice the onions, mushrooms, and cheese. Line the bottom of a springform pan with the bacon slices. Sprinkle the onions, cheese, mushrooms, and herbs over the top. Place the meat mixture on top and press down firmly. Roll out the puff pastry to fit the pan and place it on top, pressing the edges firmly. Prick several times with a fork. Bake at approx. 180°C for approx. 40 minutes on the middle rack. Turn out onto a plate, remove the bacon slices from the bottom, and arrange them over the cake.
