Roulade casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g mushrooms
  • 5 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 250 ml sauce (steak sauce)
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 200 g whipped cream
  • 6 roulades (beef)
  • 100 g bacon (breakfast bacon)

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Clean the mushrooms and peel the onions. Slice both. Fry the mushrooms in hot oil for about 3 minutes. Then add the onions and fry until translucent. Season with salt and pepper. Add the steak sauce and tomato paste and mix with the other two ingredients. Mix the cornstarch and cream together and stir into the sauce mixture. Now layer the roulades, bacon, and sauce alternately in a shallow baking dish (about 30 cm long). Finish with the sauce and bacon as the last layer. Cook in a preheated oven at 150°C to 175°C fan/convection oven (electric oven: 175°C to 200°C, gas mark 2-3) for about 2 hours. If necessary, cover the dish with aluminum foil after 1 1/2 hours. Serve immediately.
