  • 1 kg morello cherries or sweet cherries
  • 1 kg rock sugar, white
  • 1 liter white rum
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon or cinnamon powder
  • some orange peel, untreated, grated or orange powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Wash and stem the cherries. Layer the rock candy, cherries, and spices in a large, sealable container. Seal everything and let it steep for at least 3 weeks. It’s perfect served ice-cold on the patio for two in the summer, or heated on the stovetop and spread over pancakes in the winter. Definitely something for a successful evening for two…
