Russian meat skewers

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 2 ½ kg pork neck
  • 1 ½ kg onion(s)
  • 1 can of tomatoes, pureed
  • 100 ml cream
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • Salt
  • pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Rest time approx. 20 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 hours 55 minutes

Slice the onions into rings and season well with salt and pepper. After a few minutes, squeeze the onions thoroughly to release the juices. Cut the meat into cubes and add them to the onions. Add the passata and mix well. Let it sit in the refrigerator for 16-20 hours. About 3 hours before grilling, add the cream and mayonnaise, mix well again, and let it sit for a while longer. Prepare the grill for high heat. Place the meat on the skewers and grill well on all sides. This should take about 10 minutes. Then remove the meat and enjoy.
