Rustic Flat Bread

The perfect rustic flat bread recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 Baking mix for farmer’s bread, 500 g
  • 340 ml Lukewarm water
  • 150 g Brie 60% F.i.Tr.
  • 125 g South Tyrolean bacon in thin slices
  • 150 g Thinly sliced ​​mountain cheese
  1. Knead the farmer’s bread baking mix and lukewarm water with the dough hook of the hand mixer to form a smooth dough. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 225 ° C. Cut the brie and mountain cheese into thin slices.
  3. Knead the dough briefly and roll it out on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Let rise for another 30 minutes. Then bake in the oven (middle rack) for about 10 minutes. Then take it out of the oven for a moment and top it with South Tyrolean bacon, brie and slices of mountain cheese. Put back in the oven and bake for another 8 minutes.
  4. The flat bread tastes great with “creamy turnip soup” (see cookbook), or just enjoy it.
